Cindy Collins Memorial Scholarship
Cindy was an extremely caring and passionate person, devoting several decades of her life to the care of others as a registered nurse. Starting her career in Akron, Ohio, she later spent most of her career in Columbus, Ohio, while also working at several Charlotte area hospitals. Cindy was a born leader and innovator, rising to become an open heart recovery unit manager managing over 100 nurses, and creating teddy bears for open heart patients to protect their stitches after surgery.
Her kindness, caring, and joy extended beyond her work and was demonstrated in every facet of her life, touching many lives. After many years of service, she retired and left the nursing profession turning her artistic flair and sense of style to home decorating, design, and painting.
She wanted other passionate, strong, and caring individuals to continue the legacy of service and to support the pursuit of this noble profession.
Impact
In recognition of Cindy’s dedication to the nursing profession and her commitment to caring for others, the Cindy Collins Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to qualified students enrolled in the Nursing program at Central Piedmont.
