Gregory L. Recard Memorial Scholarship
“The Gregory L. Recard Memorial Scholarship was established to provide financial assistance to a student pursuing training in Automotive Technology.
Gregory Lemar Recard was the only child of Paul and Carolyn W. Recard. It was his dream to complete studies in Automobile Mechanics. He enrolled in the program offered at Central Piedmont Community College. He attended classes on and participated in an internship for hands on training at Keiffer Dodge. He loved it! He was exceptionally good at it! He knew that this was what he was supposed to do with his life. However, Gregory was afflicted at birth by Sickle Cell Anemia. He was not able to complete his studies and realize his dreams. For 46 years, he endured a constant assault on his heath and well-being. On April 22, 2020, Gregory could no longer endure, and he was called back home to be with our Lord in heaven."
Impact
“This scholarship was established in his name to assist another in the pursuit of a dream. It acknowledges that education and training is the key to a better life. Education and training will secure a brighter future, not just for the student but for all he or she relates too. Elevate one and the positive impact can create a ripple effect that can be seen throughout family, friends, associates.
Thank God for being or Jehovah Jireh, as it is He who has provided the ways/means for this scholarship. In memory of my son, Gregory, I pray that it will be a blessing for years to come, lives are touched, and dreams will be realized."
