Mia Goodwin Memorial Scholarship
The Mia Goodwin Memorial Scholarship will provide one Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) or Criminal Justice student per year with the Mia Goodwin Memorial Scholarship which can be used for any student-related expense. Therefore, should a BLET student be sponsored by a law enforcement agency and have tuition, books, and uniform expenses covered by the sponsoring agency, this scholarship may be paid out directly to the student for other related expenses.
To be considered, the applicant must have a 2.5 GPA and submit a letter of recommendation attesting to their related experience in the field of public safety/law enforcement, character, service, and commitment to advance their education. Applicants must identify as female or have demonstrated support for females in the pursuit of a higher education degree, regardless of the sex of the applicant.
The Mia Goodwin Memorial Scholarship was established in 2022 by the North Carolina Law Enforcement Women’s Association in memory of Mia Goodwin. This scholarship is available to the following students:
- Financial need as demonstrated by FAFSA application process
- Minimum GPA of 2.5 or a letter of recommendation
To qualify for this scholarship you must:

This scholarship is renewable if the applicant still meets the above requirements.
Scholarships can be used for tuition, required fees, e-text fees, and textbooks, if required, unless otherwise noted.
