Jay O. Emry Endowed Scholarship (Cato)

The Cato-Jay O. Emry Endowed Scholarship is available to Central Piedmont students in any associate degree, diploma, or certificate program who have financial need. Preference will be given to students who have worked for pay, are working for pay, or who have worked or are working without pay in community service.

In memory of Jay O. Emry (1919-1964), who was an employee of The Cato Corporation from 1950 until his death in 1964, this scholarship program was established in 1999. Jay Emry was the company’s first Chief Store Operations Officer.

The Cato – Jay O. Emry Endowed Scholarship Endowed Scholarship was established in 1999 by The Cato Corporation in memory of Jay Emry, the company’s first Chief Store Operations Officer. This scholarship is available to the following students:

  • Financial Need as demonstrated by FAFSA application process
  • Enrolled in any associate degree, diploma, or certificate program

Priority consideration will be given to students who have volunteered or worked for pay.

This scholarship is renewable if the applicant still meets the above requirements.

Scholarships can be used for tuition, required fees, e-text fees, and textbooks, if required, unless otherwise noted.
