Charles Vance "Van" Abernethy - Chef Van Scholarship

The Charles Vance “Van” Abernethy – Chef Van Scholarship is available to students in the Culinary Arts Program who are taking a minimum of six (6) credit hours per semester, have demonstrated commitment to a culinary career, and have demonstrated financial need

Applicants must be recommended by a member of the faculty and/or staff of the Culinary Arts Program at the end of the spring semester for the following academic year and submit a 50-100 word essay on their goals for the future in the culinary field.

This scholarship was established in 2009 in memory of Charles Vance “Chef Van” Abernethy, Jr. who was a former Instructional Lab Facilitator at Central Piedmont.
