The Cato-Thomas H. (Tom) Hicks Endowed Scholarship

The Cato-Thomas H. (Tom) Hicks Endowed Scholarship is available to Central Piedmont students in any associate degree, diploma, or certificate program who have financial need. Preference will be given to students who have worked for pay, are working for pay, or who have worked or are working without pay in community service.

In honor of Tom Hicks (born 1946), who was employed by The Cato Corporation from 1988-1991, this scholarship program was established in 1999. Tom Hicks joined Cato as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer and Corporate Secretary-Treasurer. From 1990-91, he was also a member of the company’s Board of Directors.
