The Cato-William K. (Bill) Van Allen Endowed Scholarship

The Cato-William K. (Bill) Van Allen Endowed Scholarship is available to Central Piedmont students in any associate degree, diploma, or certificate program who have financial need. Preference will be given to students who have worked for pay, are working for pay, or who have worked or are working without pay in community service.

In honor of William K. (Bill) Van Allen (born 1914), whose association with The Cato Corporation as its General Counsel spanned a quarter of a century, from 1961 through 1986, this scholarship program was established in 1998. From 1962-1971 he was also a member of the company’s Board of Directors. In 1950 he helped form the law firm now known as Moore and Van Allen.
