Debbie Antshel Memorial Scholarship
The Debbie Antshel Memorial Scholarship was established in 2008 to honor her legacy by helping graduating Charlotte-Mecklenburg high school seniors, dedicated to public service, continue their education at Central Piedmont Community College and leverage their knowledge, skills, and passions to positively impact their community. The Debbie Antshel Memorial Scholarship provides assistance with tuition and fees for the recipient’s first year at Central Piedmont, and is eligible for reapplication for the recipient’s second year. A minimum 2.5 GPA at Central Piedmont is required to be considered for a second award year of the Debbie Antshel Memorial Scholarship.
To be eligible for the Debbie Antshel Memorial Scholarship, an applicant will:
- Be a graduating senior from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools;
- Demonstrate a commitment to community service and improving the lives of others;
- Demonstrate financial need (as determined by completing the FAFSA); and
- Plan to enroll at Central Piedmont during the first semester after graduation and major in one of the following areas of study (programs are listed in order of preference)
- Human Services Technology
- Early Childhood Education
- Interpreter Education
- Nursing / Nurse Aide/ Nurse Assistant
- Medical Assisting
- Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Physical Therapy Assistant
- Respiratory Therapy
- Dental Assisting/Dental Hygiene
- Ophthalmic Medical Assistant
- Emergency Medical Science
- Fire Protection Technology
A handwritten thank you note is expected from the recipient of this scholarship by the donor.
